so i have built up a new telecaster which i want to make mid 60s specs but with a full maple neck.
at the moment i have -
2 piece ash body refinished in cherry red, fat 1 piece maple neck vintage specs, fender vintage bridge with threaded saddles.
so what pickup do i need to get that 60s sound and also have a bit of twang?
i already have a set of country boys and was looking at other manufacturers but there is little in the price and having the assurance of a lifetime guarantee and knowing the quality of BKs i guess it is another set for me!

I can recommend Yardbirds highly. I got a tele with maple neck and absolutly love how yardbirds work in the guitar. Very versitile for almost anything apart from Metal.
I would go as far as to say my favourite Bare knuckle pickup I have tried.
Hope it help

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC the 60's tele would be alder body and rosewood fretboard ?

Yardbirds ? (wild guess...)

I definitely lean towards the Yardbirds for a 60s sound.
Personally, I'm not so sure about the "twang". All depends exactly what we all mean by "twang". Mine do twang for me, but not near as much my other teles (Blackguards). Having said that, my Yardbirds are in an alder body with rosewood board...
With a maple board and ash body though, I reckon they'd twang a fair bit more.
But 60s jangle and all round versatile tele pickups they're great :D
