I've been avoiding it til now, because I'm a wuss and I get upset by stuff like that, but it's just dawning on me what a massive deal the earthquake in Haiti is - the devistation is like nothing I've ever seen.
Puts life into perspective, I guess.

I've been avoiding it for more personal reasons, my Brother in law is over there at the moment working for mapaction.org mapping the extents of the disatser, So I'll get to hear the real not tainted by the press version of what is really happening when he gets back.

It's chaos and tragic. I can't imagine what it must be like to have broken limbs or worse and can't help yourself or get any help.

It's OK, America has sent Chelsea Clinton over with Bill.... seriously WTF is she doing there?
F**K Médecins Sans Frontières.. Let block the airports with ex-presidents & their kids + associated CIA security teams.
Then send Newsreaders (not the justifiable reporters) to present the shows from the critical airport.. WHY?

This is sick...
"Wyclef Jean Launched His Personal Charity with Other People's Money"
"they don't show a single contribution from Jean. They do, however, show payments totaling $18,696 to Refugee Camp Entertainment, a record label co-owned by Jean, for "band salary and expenses" related to performances at two fundraisers. They also show a payment of $22,750 to Jean's production company, Platinum Sounds, as reimbursement for fees Platinum fronted for a fundraiser."

The thing that's upset me most in the past few days, is photo-journalists taking pictures of people reaching out for help. I can't fathom why they don't just down cameras and HELP people.
"I know I can reach my hand out and help you, but that anguish might get me a pulizer prize!"
Swines.

Wyclef Jean is Haitian isn't he? What a dick.

This is indeed a terrible catastrophe that is very painful to see. Brings out the best and the worst in people too it would seem. As has been said, kind of puts our silly moans and groans in perspective.

But in all seriousness I agree, it is pretty sick.

Yes it is bad seeing photographers behaving this way. I'm sure their not all like that. The photo of the young lad pulled from a collapsed building with a huge smile on his face was very good I thought.
