Title: Single coil covers to match distressed Warpig?
Post by: dobbins on January 24, 2010, 02:45:59 PM
Hi all,

I hope this is the right place to post this Q. I was wondering if I can get suitably distressed single coil covers to match the Warpig I have recently acquired? MY HSS strat will look a bit more silly than it already does otherwise. Anyone know of any places?

Cheers

What type of distressing do you have?
If it's a black cover with gouges taken out why not get some cheap black plastic SC covers and attack them with a file and some sandpaper?

I got the black one and my single coils have black covers so that could be a good idea. I was keeping the pickups stock in the middle and neck as they weren't too bad sounding and I don't really use them that much. Furthermore, they have a few specks of rust on the bobbins so should look pretty cool if I take a file and sandpaper to the cases, and if it looks cr@p I haven't really lost much as replacements for a Squier Showmaster needn't be expensive.

There are a few more pics on there of the pickups in the guitar, they match very nicely! :)

Theres a LOT of pick wear on those!

But yeah, I had some. The distressing is fragile, though (as you can see in that pick wear), but they can be made.
