Title: To Petrucci EBMM Owners.. swapped stock for NB
Post by: Bird on February 05, 2010, 04:03:57 AM
Any of you who have swapped out the stock Air Norton & D-Sonic for Nailbombs, I'd like to know how you like the NBs and how they compare to stock. I've got the JP with Piezo... it's pretty sweet, but I find the pickups a bit.... lacking  8)

I had a JP when they first came out years back and I thought the stock pickups we're horrendous, I'd had a JEM7VWH just before it which was amazing in comparison, then I got my first BKP loaded guitar a Fender Deluxe Strat which blew em all away..

Only guitar i've ever owned who's stock pickups were any crack is my Custom 24.

I have a BFR JP6 and I do find the pickups to be lacking right now, and I have a set of painkillers going in it soon.  I have to get the pickup remade to have short legs though, but if you want I can let you know how it sounds with them.  I know they're not Nailbombs, but I have a Nailbomb set in my Schecter Hellraiser and I'll try and tell you how it should sound with the info I can gather with both these guitars.

I almost forgot I posted this as I didn't get the automated response thing. Anyhoo... that would be much appreciated. It's a great guitar but I do find the pickups a little "weak". I find them a bit bland for lack of a better word.
