I'm about to put my order for my 8 string, and after months of searching for the one i liked, the specs won me over for the schecter blackjack atx-8. sure, it's still only a 26.5 scale, but i can live with that. the winning spec over a hellraiser was the ebony fretboard instead of mahogany. and maybe i can deal with the SD blackouts better than the EMG808's..
anyway. i'm at the last turning point. which color. i haven't seen any on hand yet so it's very hard to decide. i'm kind of tempted to go with the aged white. but the aged black looks very good too.. but meh, black guitar...
help me! Black or white? Do note it's a satin finish, not gloss...
-
It's so obvious that it's gotta be black!
-
I prefer the white.
-
THIS is exactly why i have trouble deciding. such a low tuned metal monster has gotta be black. but at the same time i like the white look. it's different.
and then, well, everyone i talk to is either black or white. evenly..... i'll just buy two, chop them in half, and have two 8 strings schenker style!
-
Yeah white...
The last thing the world needs is another black "metal" guitar... but try telling Ibanez that!

the missus also said white. and your opinion rings true to my ears :D
shame i can't get white Riff Raff 8's on that :D

I'll say white as well. Looks super cool 8)

+1 White all the way, Ive seen the 7-string version in white and its sexy as hell.
-
White always looks better under stage lights.
-
I vote for white
Having seen way too many metal bands on stage with black guitars, wearing black clothes in front of black amplifiers and a mainly black backdrop - it doesn't make for interesting viewing!
But bring on a white guitar - brightens everything up!

haha! well as you may see on my avatar, i favor white shirts and colorful guitars (well.. i have a satin red, a dark green, a brown, and tiger burst)... aaanyway white it is.
on the topic of that guitar, i chose the ebony fretboard 'cause it seemed to be quite close in terms of tonality to maple, which is my fretboard of choice. this is going from what i read. I have a rosewood boarded guitar and don't like it so much. the only one i actually like is on my jazzbox. it feels right :D
how is ebony? i like maple mainly because of the feel, but i hope the ebony will somewhat brighten what is an otherwise all mahogany set neck guitar..

Have you already asked Tim? Because I'm sure BKP do custom orders too mate, give him a call!
My choice for colour? WHITE! And I specifically want clips when you have it, even with the stock pups. :D
Reason is I am looking for my next purchase and I am really really getting turned on by Schecters at the moment. I want possibly the 7 string version of the one you're getting and I'll be putting a PK into it. I'll probably be P-Xing my Jackson DR7T and my B.C Rich Warlock NJ series just to be able to make it more affordable.

I love ebony, it's like playing on glass.

oh, tim does make Riff Raff 8's and all sorts of 8's. which is a great thing! though i do know he only makes them in black bobbins, and that's very understandable.

The colors are actually diffrent in person! If you look at more pictures of the ATX series you will notice that the black one is actually dark grey and the white one is a little yellowish and not as pure white as on those pictures.
I would go for the black (dark grey) one.
