Title: the C-pig in basswood dont comes out....
Post by: mesallover on February 15, 2010, 11:24:16 PM

i have a C-pig in a ibanez RG2570
[ BASSWOOD body , maple neck ] TUNING : C#

but... the suond dont comes out from my amp ( 5150 peavey)!!!!!!!!!!

my sound with this guitar is dark and stifled... i've tried to put a 1 meg volume pot, but the sound is almost the same.

i've tried to put some capacitors between the Hot of the bkp and the pot, but the sound has changed very few.

i've tried to lower the pickup from the strings  for cut the bass freq but the distortion isn't the same...

what can i do to have a sound more open ?

i tell you this because i hear the difference when i play this my ibanez and my cort custom shop with a calibrated set of Painkiller and because all my friends tell me after a live performance that there is much difference between this two guitars!

help! :)

All three Ibanez guitars I have are all quite dark sounding guitars. The only thing I can think of that you havent said youve done is raise the screwpoles nearest the bridge a bit and lower the neck sid screwpoles and that should brighten up your sound.

try wiring it straight to the jack and see how she goes  :P. I had a C-pig in a basswood with maple neck-thru guitar and i thought it was too dark even though it was maple neck thru.

my c-pig is directly wired to the jack because my elecronics configuration is: pick up ( bridge) > master volume> jack
( see my avatar ) :D

that's not straight to the jack. the volume pot is still taking away some of your treble.
