Please dude..

Still No NEED to SHOUT randomly... we CAN hear YOU and IT makes things VERY distracting!  :P

Ask Tim for his trade secrets and I'm sure he'll be happy to help.  :?

I understood it to be that Peter had accidentally damaged one of the two coils in the neck pickup, shorting out some of the windings, or making them in some way offset with each other  within the same pickup.  Alone it sounded fine, but could not fully defend itself ( in girth ) against the bridge pickup in the middle toggle position.

As already mentioned , only the 'Mighty Tim' knows the real answer.

( Oh, and a belated welcome too ! )  :)

I thought one of the magnets was the wrong way around or something. I'm sure I saw an online article where someone had examined the actual pickup. Buggered if I can find it though.

And I'm with Afghan about the SHOUTING.

The differences are explained in the Guitarist review of the PG Blues (http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/reviews/pgblues.pdf (http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/reviews/pgblues.pdf)).

 8) SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS

Sorry Guys,
I use caps sometimes without even noticing..
You see in the past year I have had 5 heart attacks a stroke, and 7 heart surgeries, the lastest on Jan 28th I had a quad bypass and a Pacemaker installed.....so I am a bit beat up.

It almost cost me a record contract with Alligator.
I was due to hand them 16 tracks almost 9 months ago luckily they are nice people and understand.
Had it been my old label Arista they would have sued me....thank god Alligator loves it's artists as much as they do the Blues.
Ok so back to the CAPS.....when in NAMN I got schrapnel in my eyes and it caused damage to the arteries that feed blood to the back of the pupil  to make my eyes focus. I was not getting barely any blood so I could barely see.(focus)
I even have my computer desktop set on 200%.
It certainly is not meant to disturb others or to shout....I just like to see what I am typing. They took the program they were letting me use once I had the pacemaker put in.

Makes it real hard to see in the dark !!!!

I had my  drivers liscense taken for a few months and could not see my settings on my amps etc....

Since getting the Pacemaker and bringing my heart rate from 37 to 70 has made it a whole lot better but that is still one of the things they are looking at tying to replace the arterie's that feed both eyes so I can see.
Even glasses won't fix this.
( I have had a program that reads things to me due to this , and type according to how I talked so if I raised my voice you got caps....but since the pacemaker I can see farily well with my glasses)

Thanks for your answer about the pups........I'lll do a bit more research...I'll try to watch the caps

My Apologies
St.James

BTW...I think you got it Gwem...that's where all blues come from so it would make sense that though the pups helped most of it came from his fingering and how he manipulated the string.

Sorry to hear about your health problems St.James, I wish you all the best for the future and better health  :)

I'm also a PG Blues user, they replaced some Burstbucker in a LP Std. Previous to fitting them, I would never have thought that changing a single component could have made such a massive difference to a guitar's tone.

IIRC, the forum administrator is from New York.

My apologies for not noticing that in your earlier post St.James ; I must read slower. I too am very sorry to hear of your somewhat profound health issues. I sincerely hope that there are many more years of your playing ahead.

Thanks to Plexi Ken for 'waking me up' - and again , my apologies for rather foolishly skimming past that.  :)
