So looking forward to seeing this band tonight
Their new album is awesome rock!
Guitar player's influences of Gary Moore and Michael Schenker shine through a lot - but he's incredible in his own right
Cool guitar solo at 2.55 in the clip above
-
actually thinking of rudolf's "wind of change" solo when i hear that
-
More Schenker influence here :P

great cover - i'm impressed. not many people can pull off schenker
-
Is this the Europe from "Final Countdown"?
-
Same band - this is their true colours how they are these days
Countdown was pretty much a one off - mind you the solo in it was freaking awesome
-
oh yeah, john norum is a badass.
is that the one they play on planet rock all the time? EDIT: nah, i don't think it is.
-
Took me ages to get round to listening to this, because I thought "Oh, it's only Europe  ". But. I must admit, that is a good track (chorus is still a bit schmaltzy though  )
The UFO cover is excellent - great playing from Mr Norum (you can sit down with a V!! ). But I was surprised to hear Joey talking about John's mum's partner's record collection in the intro, like it was ancient history! I'm old enough to remember most of the UFO albums first time round... and everyone in Europe is my age or older!
-
and everyone in Europe is my age or older!
wow, i knew we had a problem in the west with an ageing population, but i didn't realise it was this bad...

I had a feeling that was going to happen, even as I typed the sentence....

couldn't resist
only joking, as I'm sure you know. :)

Gwem - you would have had fun last night
It was a bit of a Flying V fest
Support was from DIAMOND HEAD!
Brian Tatler played a white V
Norum also used a white V for about 1/3 of the set interspersed with 4 Les Pauls
Tuning wise he had a bout 4 songs in B two in C and the rest I think he was tuned to D or E flat at least
It was a lot heavier than maybe a few audience members were expecting
Norum was amazing - wringing tones out of his guitars in a way that Gary Moore and Michael Schenker would have admired.
Gig lived up to my hopes for it!

cool stuff

nice, diamond head supported megadeth a couple of tours back when i saw them. Were pretty good, i bought the best of on the strength of it (i'd heard of them before i saw them, just didn't know any of their stuff... and it was like £3 on amazon or something like that  ).
