Title: BOSS AC-3
Post by: Copperhead on February 21, 2010, 04:57:07 AM
I am not a big fan of effects or digital whatever, my favorite tone is guitar straight in to tube amp.
That said, just cranked up a new project, and was contemplating hiring a guy to do nothing but play acoustic, barely in the mix mostly, but needed for some breaks and intros....
It was decided at a meeting to keep it small for now and add pieces later if need be.
I was talking with the store manager that sponsors me and he gave me a BOSS AC-3 to demo.
Looks like I'm buying it.
Very impressed with the COSM technology. The last BOSS pedal I tried was underwhelming, so I didn't know what to expect.
I put it on my board and played with it mostly at sound check on a five night engagement last week.
Really turned some heads and had a couple of the crew looking around for the acoustic on stage!
It will work fine for live performance. So much easier and cheaper than setting up a walk-up and acoustic rig.
It even feels right, doesn't have a digital or synth-y feel at all while playing, touch sensitivity is unbelievable.
Don't know how I missed this one when it came out, but definitely worth the price of admission IMO.
