I put down a backing track to demo my Flying V, namely Born Under A Bad Sign as it's one of the 1st V hits. I was going to wait until my new amp arrives next week. However on a dry run with my JJ Retro on the neck BKP90 I thought that even though it's only through a GarageBand amp sim it gives a fair indication of the in between nature of a P90. I'll do something else with the V.

That was absolutely Brilliant ; excellent ( and original ) playing / feel. I have long wanted to hear the BKP90 in a mellow vibe ; and that has sold me on them. They really are a sound unto themselves, and I would love to find a guitar to put them in.
Back onto the subject of the playing - and your choice of arrangement / phrasing / dynamics : there are some lovely touches of J.J.Cale in there, but mostly yourself. Very professional. 8)

Thanks mate. Extremely kind words and much appreciated. I've got six BKP's and the Knuckled90 is the one that gets the most use by miles. The most fun I had doing this was the bass line. I recently put a great deal of time and effort into restoring my 5 string active bass (I put a new battery in) and it's sounding like a piano again.

Choucas dude, that was f'kin ace.
I've been trawling around this forum for ages to get a decent soundbite on the P90's and that was the sound I'm searching for. Great playing geezer
I'm hunting for a LP Gold Top copy to put them in.
Any pics of the JJ Retro (or the V)?

Agree, very nice.
Now, can you please buy a BKP91 and 92, install them in the same guitar, play the same thing and let me compare???
;)
Mark.

Two lovely - and interesting guitars there Choucas ! :D
I like the feeling that they both have a very unique character, as opposed to them just being 'nice'. That pair reminded me of local guitar shops in the 70s ; where most of the stock was second hand, and gloriously varied / interesting as a result.
The next thing that struck me was the way they gave full fret access, whilst still looking very solid - and workmanlike. You could see why Michael Schenker crouched over his 'V' like a Jazzer - or an artist carefully carving each detail out of the fretboard. The J.J. seems to have a lovely chunky vibe to it - along with a Zen like balance, simplicity and aesthetics. I can see where a BKP90 or M.Q. would find optimum voice in that one. The J.J. looks like an excellent 'Jazzer' : as seems to offer a nice wide / uncluttered fretboard, and meaty neck. The effect further consolidated by the impression that it would take / set up to heavy strings - aided and abetted by the solid yet arty headstock. That wider looking body ( amongst other details ) being very redolent of your Eastman El-Ray.
The 'V' holding promise of a wonderfully elegant ( low slung ) and organic Rock experience ; whilst the J.J. looks every inch the musician's choice, for closely held elegance and intimate exploration of the music in hand.

Er... yeah. They look cool.
What are you going to do with that beautiful V?
