Just read...
"BBC4 will be screening the Award-winning Flight 666 documentary on Thursday, March 4th at 11 PM (GMT), a very suitable starting point for their Heavy Metal Britannia weekend!
And a special one hour edit of the spectacular Maiden Live Concert (from the bonus disc in the Flight 666 DVD release) can be seen the following night, Friday March 5th at 11 PM (GMT). The concert will be shown after two BBC Metal programmes: the first is Heavy Metal Britannia (9 PM GMT) which charts the origins and history of British Heavy Metal and includes interviews with such legendary performers as BLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi, JUDAS PRIEST's Rob Halford, MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy and Maiden's very own BRUCE DICKINSON.
The second is Heavy Metal At The BBC (10:30 PM GMT) and is a 30 minute compilation of performances by various metal bands recorded over the years.
Both these BBC Programmes will be repeated on BBC4 on Sunday, March 7th at 9 PM and 10:30 PM respectively, with the Iron Maiden Live concert repeated at 1:30 AM (GMT) the following morning. "

Thanks for letting us know about the BBC 4 thing Dave looks interesting.
I had a look at the Black Metal clip. Hmmm lovely. Film has come a long way since The Wizard Of Oz. Anyway I expect there will be lots of nice girls to share popcorn with in the back row. :)

Hands up how many of you thought "hang on, that's a translation of a Burzum album title" (Hvis Lit Tar Øs - IIRC the last one before Varg Vikernes' imprisonment for murder)?
Did I read somewhere that he gets out in a few years?
-
I think he's out.

It was alright. A bunch of Glasgow's finest NSBM arseholes chatting and giggling their way through it didn't help.
It ignores all political and social subtext, which means a certain total bastard gets off pretty easy, but his recent interview in Terrorizer is the same, so maybe he wont answer political questions. It basically tells the story of Black Metal 91-93, with very brief bits about the two famous murders and the church burnings. As a result it's pretty light on content, but full of Fenriz being hilarious, Immortal being daft and Faust, who's now out and playing in bands and has his face all over tons of media having his face and voice obscured
Yeah Varg is out, lives with his wife and kids on a farm and just released a new Burzum album.
Antag, it's a mis-translation, Hvis lyset tar oss means IF the light takes us.
