Title: I fail
Post by: IAMBR00TALZ on February 27, 2010, 05:50:27 AM
I cut the leads way to short over the time I had my NB.  Now, it is only like 2 3 inches long.  It is impossible to reach.  Is my pickup useless now?  Can I get it fixed?  How much?

There is this: http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/WA6/Four-Conductor-Shielded-Humbucker-Pickup-Wire.html

would it be hard to put that on?

I don't think so...  I mean, you'd have to micro-splice each end together, bit of solder and a couple crocos as heat sinks (and a steady hand), but man, it's totally do-able.  Strip the ends, heatsink them, solder them together, re-sheild them and you're off to the races.

If you really want to use them, take them to a guitar tech or someone who's experienced with soldering wires and stuff. Providing you don't want to do this yourself.

It won't take them long and shouldn't even cost much. And it's a whole lot cheaper than buying a new pickup :)

If you give us a phone call at the BareKnuckle workshop you can have it sent back to us to have a new conductor wire fitted.

It will cost around £15 plus p&p, much cheaper then a new one.
