Hi
I'm new to the BKP family and just equipped my Gibbo SG Standard Reissue VOS with a MQ in the Neck and a Riff Raff in the Bridge :D Sounds awesome!
I would like to install a Push/Pull Poti for splitting the RR.
Does anyone have a recommendation which Poti I should use?
Thanks!

Poti?
-
Poti = Potentiometer
There are several out there (from Gibson, PRS, etc.) but I don't know which one fits in the SG.
(they all seem to be different in size ...)

I've seen CTS push/pull pots recently, but can't for the life of me remember where.
Do you have long or short shaft pots in the SG?
-
I have the standard Gibson pots installed.
Unfortunately, I don't know if they are short or long :?

you will need to know if you're buying replacement pots - take one out.
I will say though, if the pots are mounted direct through the top of the guitar, they will be short shaft. If they're mounted to one of those metal plates (wtf Gibson?!?!?!?), then they'll be long shaft.

My only concern for Milkman , is that I have not seen an S.G. control cavity deep enough to take a push pull switch. I was thinking he may have had to resort to a minature toggle in addition to the usual controls .
( Oh, and welcome to the forum Milkman ! ) :)

hm - I guess I have to take one out (though I wanted to avoid that ...)
maybe I find some additional information on the Gibson website.
thanks for your comments and your welcome! :D
great forum - great guys!

Look into the Seymour Duncan triple shot pickup ring. It's quite tidy, no cosmetic mods and easier to use than push pulls IMO. I can't say how easy they are to wire though

hi will,
thanks - great idea!
I guess I will use 4 push/pull pots to get a "Jimmy Page Wiring" in my SG.
It seems to work in a SG (http://www.tonemojo.com//Home_Page.php) with short shafts...
Thanks guys for your kind help!

Looks like a great option / product, but just check the total height measurements for those two CTS switch / pots on the right hand side of the picture. The wiring round the controls in the photo ( and angle of shot ) disguises the fact that the two on the right are quite a bit taller than the two on the left. The total height may prevent you from getting the rear control cover back on. Being CTS types, the dimensions should be given on one of the guitar spares sites.
BKP sell the same pot/ switches in the 'Accessories' section of BKP shop page , should you wish to get them quicker and do it yourself.
All the best ! :)
And send my regards back to the beautiful Austria ; home of ( amongst other natural and cultural gems ) - my beloved T.I. brand Jazz guitar strings ... 8)
