Hi
I saw a Music Man (bolt on) yesterday featuring a full rosewood neck and fingerboard.
I was wondering what would be the difference with a classical maple neck + rosewood fingerboard, as I never played one like this.
Thanks for your help !

Rosewood is brighter than maple, and it feels damn cool to play.
I love the RW neck on my McCarty, it rings, resonates, doesn't have dead spots and sounds real cool. It doesn't have as much oomph as a maple neck though, at least what I think to hear.

My thoughts too, but it depends on each piece of wood. I've had two PRS McCartys with Indian rosewood necks, and still have a PRS Modern Eagle with a Brazilian rosewood neck.
One McCarty had a really thick, big tone - like a modern Les Paul
One McCarty had a brighter and thinner tone - like a Tele with humbuckers
The Modern Eagle seems to combine the two and have more of everything - some 'magic', plus sweetness, brightness and push.
They feel great to play as Hunter says, but a lot of people say they can scoop the mids a bit. That can depend on your playing style though.
Basically, you should try one and see if you like it :)

I tried twinfan's rosewood neck prs at the bkp meet. The feeling of it on your hands is very nice, i think it would remain feeling that good even if you'd sweat alot. Its sort of smooth, yet grippy. Really liked it.
