yes, essential viewing, if you're a music fan .. or in a bad mood.. cos that WILL crack you up in no time :D
great performance.. even more so, when you consider this song is over 6 minutes long in its original form and they squeezed all the notes into a 4 minute blast :D

I saw them do this live at the Oval in the 70's....Even at the 'normal' speed it was pretty impressive  :D
Jan Akkerman was amazing - he could play extremely fast before it became 'fashionable' - probably one of the most underated guitarists of this period. At this gig there was a jam session with Jack Bruce, Jan Akkerman and Pierre Van de Linden (the drummer with Focus who was really great ) - I'm not into drum solos but this is him playing aged 60  :o

underrated? ha! .. i think that word itself is not sufficient of akkermans' abilities. nowadays you're not considered a guitarist among many, if you dont know how to sweep .. (not considering any classical guitarists, cos they're not human in my eyes :D) dude was doing it in the early 70's, when they thought tapping was a big deal in rock.

and still today he makes very listenable music.

I must be getting old ; as I remember when that was one of the most requested / played tunes at Rock clubs . One great feature ( if you were equally drunk and teenage ) being that you could try and yodel badly along to the relevant part - then head bang relentlessly when the meat and potatoes came back in.

Happy days ...  :D

you dont need to be teenage.. or particularly drunk to want to yodel along.. this song was played on the beach stage of metal camp every half hour.. i know me and a friend were yodeling (quite badly) along.. next to us was Jari (of ensiferum and wintersun fame) .. quite stricken, judging by the look on his face.. then we got drunk afterwards

It's nice to know some of the old traditions are still alive .  :)  I love the idea of it being merrily yodeled along to  in the discerning  / contemporary arena of a 'Metal Camp' beach setting.  Rubbing shoulders with the big boys too !  8)

That old 'Hocus Pocus' still delivers ...
