More of my usual riffage that needs a singer to go with it!

Pig 90 in all mahogany LP Custom > Amplitube 2 on the "900rocks" patch with a load of tweaks.

I enjoyed listening to that, especially the swaggering and somewhat serpentine early stages. :)
The bit that struck me most of all tone wise, was that the 'magic' blend of P90 and Brutality, gave a really authentic early Black Sabbath sound ! :D
I could just hear 'Sweet Leaf' and the seminal 'Black Sabbath' jumping out of that. It was really good to hear what my M.Q's mutant and wayward sibling sounded like , in a context I could still associate with.
Nice one ; keep up the good work Tom . 8)

great riffage tom, great sounding pick ups and stunning production.

Thanks guys :) I don't think this is my best work as I wrote/recorded it all in about an hour after a quick, rare flash of inspiration - first original thing I've done for quite some time.
Derek, I'm really tempted to put the p90s in my SG as I can't afford another set of BKPs yet, but I dunno whether it's wise to mess with the LP they're in as it sounds so good and they seem to suit it well.. P90s are really good for heavier stuff, I much prefer their tone for most heavy stuff to humbuckers tbh.

I would think a temporary transplant might be in order ? I ( rather masochistically ) have tried three sets of pick ups in the current Ibanez archtop , and the previous 335 type copy - and you know what 'fun' that is ...
At least in a solid body, the changeover is quite painless, if only to try / confirm your favourite 'home' for them. I like to take that chance, to re- polish the frets, oil and buff the fretboard - and generally catch up with the 'housekeeping' of the temporarily empty guitar. That way you win both ways.
Do remember to get a few objective listeners ( in the room / with the amp e.t.c ) to hear the S.G. and Les Paul 'as is' before swapping ; for the listener's angle on these things. I tend to find that I can't always hear my own guitar objectively after the swap. Lubricating the 'Panel of Judges ' with strong liquour works well : not as bribery, but because they'll remember how that combination felt, and not just sounded. :)
Do let me know how the experiment turned out ; and if you ever get the almost deranged need to have two sets of M.Q.s , give me a nudge, as mine are now in the 'Box of precious things'. Not an advert, just an observation as I type.

The main problem with switching pickups around on the Gibson is that it's one of the newer ones with circuit board mounted pots etc. I'm probably gonna just replace all the electronics with CTS/switchcraft stuff when I can afford it, which should make changing pickups a bit easier :)
I'd hate to replace 335 pickups though, so I guess I can't complain too much!

Nice riffs and tone!! :D

I really liked that a lot especially the opening strut. Great playing tone and a very cool riff. Nice one.
-
Great stuff Tom - I don't usually bother to listen to clips if they were recorded with an amp modeller but thought that was excellent.
-
Cheers :) I was quite pleased with the tone as well, one of the best I've got out of Amplitube I think.

Yup, it sounds very good indeed.

F U C K I N G ROCK! :D
I really like it. Great tone that balances between modern and old school hard rock. I was just waiting for a solo to kick in and when it came it didn't let me down. Great work!

This sounds epic. I want a Pig-90 now.

NICE MAN! It almost reminds me tonally off late 70's mid 80's metallica! =) dont take offence if you dont like em but im sayin you sound dirty, powerful and have a tasty swag =) So either way you wanna take it, its a nice tone and the track is sweet too =) i dont think you need a singer it sounded great without and the solo definitely had a lot of passion in it; which i love =) Keep up the good work man! =)

Love your tone. Very fat and warm.

Thanks for the comments :) I'm not a fan of Metallica at all but still appreciate the compliment, haha
