Title: I'm thinking.......... Miracle Man?
Post by: Brow on March 20, 2010, 04:00:27 PM
Hey guys.

I have this late 80s/Early 90s Japanese Charvel Fusion Special that I've been trying to sell for a while.

I've had the thought of giving up trying to sell it as I've had no takers in the year it's been advertised, so I'm toying with the idea of stripping it all back to only a bridge humbucker with a push/pull pot for series/parallel (if that tbh).

I have alot of other guitars that are versatile enough for what they are, so i'f I'm going ahead with this I might as well put something in it that I wouldn't normally think to use.

It'd be a guitar I'd use for the 80s Rock sorta thing so I guess a Miracle Man would fit that ok?

Cheers for any opinions! :)

I think that's a perfect idea!

I have that in my BC Rich Gunslinger.  :P

Awesome!  8)

I wanted 1 of those Yellow Gunslingers for ages, so I guess my plan for this guitar would pretty much put it in the same ballpark as a Gunslinger, but without the reverse headstock

If you popped a Trilogy in the neck & lemon oiled the board I bet you would fall back in love with it & wonder why the hell you ever considered selling it...

Would look awsome with a graffiti graphics or some pinstripping.  :D

I had a Trilogy in the neck slot when I had the Cold Sweat in the bridge. I put the Cold Sweat in my single HB Strat and the Trilogy has gone over into the middle slot of my D standard tuned Ibanez with NBs :)

Thanks for the idea of the paint job; something like a graffiti paintjob may suit the stripped back thing I'd go for on this guitar :D

The main reason I was after selling it was because my Japanese Strat with VHIIs was getting more use, not that I don't like the guitar :)

I've spoken to Tim today and he suggested either the  Painkiller (if I want more aggressive upper mids) or a Miracle Man (if I want a generally smoother sound but still higher output).

the painkiller can have quite a vicious attack - make your final decision based on that - if the guitar is quite biting already maybe take the miracle man

Cheers Gwem.

The guitar unplugged sounds good, but plugged in atm in sounds very 'middy and nasal'. That could be down to the JB that's currently in the guitar though.

I'm about 80% sure I want to go with the Miracle Man anyway
