Seen it before.

Hilarious and genius at the same time.

great stuff, have you ever seen the film 'shine' all about a student of R, goes off his head as R is notoriously difficult to play...... but despite this he still can play. His music career finished, he ends up a tramp and in a bar one night mentions he can do R and everyone starts taking the piss as he sits at the piano ..... he rips , beautiful film, just sayin'

Great film. And based on a true story, not sure how much of it was true though!

Shine is definitely in my top 5 of all time films. That bit in the bar you mentioned is sublime, everyone thinks he's the village idiot and he scythes into The Flight Of The Bumblebee. And the bit when the Prof (John Gielgud) showed our hero the plaster-cast of Rach's hand, I've worked with all manner of big lumpy blokes in my time some of whom had huge hands, but I ain't never seen hands that big.

now i know very little of Rack, but apparently not only did he have big hands, but he tw@tted the keyboard as well
giving enormous volume, makes me think of stevie R who also had a big pair o mitts but played hard too

''But only hands small!''

i love it when a classical musician can show humor and still rip up the piece. clever use of stage accessories indeed!
