Interesting...
Can't get much info from the various links - but it looks like it might be the standard Variax guts though, going on several years old now?
I like the fact it's got real pickups as well.
Have you got a Variax hunter? I own two guitars and one bass. I use the bass a fair bit, but I haven't used the guitars since my wife bought me a strat a few years ago (the strat model on the Variax wasn't entirely to my taste, I was continually tweaking it with the PC software to try to make it respond better... so she bought me a real one!)
I'm not sure I'll be getting that excited about this... I must admit to quite liking the original guitars (I have a Variax 500 and a Variax 600) as guitars themselves... I could never see what everyone was bitching about
And I'd already figured out that if I wanted to "upgrade" the guitar, what I'd do is take one to Jonathan at Feline and say "OK, let's gut this thing and build a Feline round the Variax box inside it..."
(Actually, I think he's done this before - I've seen a Variax 500 body lurking around his shop)

I've never owned one. Tried some a few times at shops but was never overwhelmed with them. If there is a real Tyler with this on top, that might be an entirely different story.
But then again, if it's another box that needs to be organised and wants power, maybe I'd rather get a normal Tyler instead...

Those do look pretty good Wez.
This is all starting to make me wonder about getting one of my Variaxes out, restringing it and see what it sounds like...

I've no great interest in the Variax, but I've seen Jeff Miller's site before - some really great guitar building "picture stories"! :D
