hey guys, first time posting here, just like to ask for some pickup recommendation/advice. i play rock and some strong blues but i don't play or like metal, don't like that "chug chug chug" sound.
i've got an LTD MH-50 (H-H guitar) and i'm pretty set to install a nailbomb in the bridge, and maybe a calibrated nailbomb set in the neck as well, but tim the other day also suggested a MQ in the neck would do it justice.
what do you guys think about a nailbomb + MQ combination? i know matt bellamy uses (or used to, correct me if i'm wrong) the same config in some of his mansons. but as much as i like the muse tone, i prefer a high output power in the bridge, and a neck pickup that'll give me some good strong blues sounds. can anyone experienced or who has this same configuration or any humbucker + P90 set up let me know how this turns out? i've read some other forums and they say the tone that comes out is great and gives great versatility but there were no sound clips or videos so i still have no idea what this setup sounds like.
thanks

how do you route this? humbucker and a p90? i can't find it in the schematics

Looks likes Matt Bellamy's setup. Nailbomb is pretty agressive. Great bridge for heavy riffing, the MQ is in the neck is versatile. Cleans up well. I think a great combo.

P90 is a big fat single coil so an HS diagram will be where it's at, Nick.

Nailbomb is actually a pretty good bluesy puckup - but I find it to be quite smooth, if you know what I mean.

I look at tons of schematics on the Bare Knuckle site, and on the Seymour Duncan site, but I can't find any that show how to make a 3 way blade switch have it be 1. bridge humbucker (nailbomb) 2. split bridge (or slug or whatever its called) 3. neck (p90)

I think you would need a 5 way to do this but you would have one missing position

yeah, i might have to do that since it will be the easiest way.

You can do it with a Tele 3-way (8-pole blade)

That what I was hoping to do it on. Is the stock Tele selector? with the 4 thingys on each side of it?
