Has anybody ever tried this?

Most of my mates can play an instrument but insist on shooting teenage boys around the world on Call Of Duty.
I'm hoping to get them to plug their electronic drum kits and bass guitars in so we can Jam instead.

Does it work?

Need to get an interface for my laptop if it's any good....
