Title: which humbuckers for a vintage vs6?
Post by: paperhouse on March 30, 2010, 07:19:12 PM
hello people!
this is my first post!
i want to change the humbuckers of my vintage vs6, and i want to go for a bare knuckle but I do dont know what to put on my guitar.
i like really vintage sounds like zeppelin, neil young, the who, cream, but I also like a lot sounds like black sabbath but I think the war pigs are too heavy for me, even though I´m very inside the stoner rock sounds.
can somebody give a sugestion?

VS6 is an SG copy, so you'll be wanting a pair of Riff Raffs, or a Riff Raff V bridge, Stormy Monday iV neck. Just like I have in my VS6. Great guitar eh? Which colour have you got?

SG is a really dark sounding guitar with all that mahogany, so you need a more trebly pickup to cut through. The Riff Raffs are much more versatile than "just an AC/CD" pickup and for the music you play, they'll be perfect.

Be sure to replace the cheap electrionics as well, new pots, caps etc.

Welcome to the forum and a world of exquisite tone! This is a great forum and you won't regret your choice to go BKP ;)

thanks man!
you were very enlightening, i have a white vs6, i love the guitar it´s amazing!
great guitar for the price,159 pounds!
probably i will choose the riff raffs,i had already thought about the question of the guitar not being a les paul, and the black dogs not be what I wanted.
those others who have spoken are sold in a pack?
nunca tinha ouvido falar neles, i will check too!
(excuse me about my english it´s very poor, i´m portuguese)
