I did have a good discussion with Dan Erlewine about this

Lighter fluid serems to be the same stuff and can be easily bought for anything from 99p- £2.00 (Dont pay more)

yep.   lighter fluid.   It is great for removing any grease, muck or sticky stuff.  it can also be quite drying because of this so if you clean a rosewood fretboard with it you want to make sure you are not leaving it too dry

It's quite good for filling lighters as well :lol:

Definitely 99p, and definitely watch out for its drying properties on rosewood boards (I tend use some sort of oil afterwards).

I used to use isopropyl alcohol injection swabs, then I got lazy and just started letting the gunk build up!

Hendrix used to clean his fretboard with lighter fluid :twisted:
