Hello!
so to celebrate my newly revived valve junior. here's a clip of a black dog doing a lead. this is off my band's second written song. black dog in bridge, through ada mp1, through an el84 power amp through a small L-Pad attenuator to the epiphone 1x12 cab. micced with an art m-one usb. light EQ and reverb.
this clip definitely shows the ''clean even when overdriven'' capacities of the black dog. the high notes are clear and smooth without being too ice picky and harsh. has a nice biting tone when you dig in too.
this is, again, played on an schecter jeff loomis 7 with fixed TOM bridge.
backing is from a recording in our rehearsal place with only an apex tube mic in the center of the room with everyone playing.

long live the dog!

Sounds good!

great playing :D

thank you!
this almost turned into a mule neck lead thread, but when i tried the take with my bridge pickup, it was just the perfect tone. though the mule is great for smooth shreddy runs ala micheal angelo.

lovely little ditty kevin, slick playing , lovin' those arppegio's, 'classical' stuff.your dead right about the 'clean' sound
when distorted but me thinks this is largely technique(good technique in this case).

very kind of you to say so!

could do with a sprinkle of delay, tone sounds very dry despite you saying there is some reverb in there.
