Title: Review of Matt Bellamy's Manson Custom
Post by: Johnny Mac on April 12, 2010, 07:15:48 PM
This guitar is the business if you like lots of creative options for new sounds. The BKP in the bridge sounds fantastic I think.

Yeah 3 grand is a piss take but it may start other builders doing similar things.

I'd love a go on one though  :D

That pad is just a midi controller. You can hook it up to any midi sound bank. They hooked this one up to a wammy pedal. The skys the limit with stuff like this!  8)

Great review. It will be interesting to see other musicians take this guitar in a different direction from the Muse sound, although I like Muse a lot. I could see a very talented DJ/Turntablist who can play guitar do something really great with this guitar. I love the NB pickup. I have one in my bridge and it's great for the kind of music I do.

iv done one or two guitars with the midi x/y pad in for kaoss pad and whammy (worked on a couple of other things if i recall too). it was fun to mess with for five minutes but thats about it. but then im not very good so it might just be me hehe

My eyes started bleeding after a few seconds, bloody sneaky tele threads!!

But seriously, any guitar with a touch screen just seems wrong to me (yeah I didn't have time to read the text before finding myself yet again violently ill at the hideous sight).

Apple may launch the Ipad Tele one day!

They do look weird I know but with all this midi tech that can link into so many things having it in a guitar with midi control on board could only look like that really.

Seems pretty cool to me, but that price tag is just way to big.

Perhaps I did not show the respect Manson Custom needs, I've just act as it was a Gibby...
I was more joking than anything, the shape doesn't appeal me and the many knobs neighter, but this is a guitar build by a guy, so it has tender care on it and deserves respect...

I'd rather give that tender love and respect to a guitar built by a gal ;)
