Hey guys,

Just thought i would share some pictures of my new Engl Powerball ( yes it is a version 2 if anyone would like to know ).

The main difference for the version 2 are a tighter bottom end ( yes even tighter!!! ) and a logarithmic treble function rather then linear. As well as a more intelligent gate.

cheers man! ill get some clips sorted out as soon as i get a cab.....whoops. Spent all my money and didnt have enough to get a cab....tutut....pay check comes on friday!!!

what combo is that behind it? why not plug into its speaker? til yu get a cab anyways...

It doesn't matter what it sounds like, it lights up! :twisted:

I've never taken a liking to ENGL really, probably because they're just not me at all, and they're not really for what I would play.

Its a custom german cream amp ( godly cleans, was made for Rory Gallagher ). You do make a very good point! I just need an amp lead and ill be sorted for a while! Cheers indy

You would be surprised. Engl make a variety of amps, not only hi gain monsters! I must also say the clean on my Engl is amazing also. I was extremely happy to find a high gain amp with an amazing clean sound.

When Chrisola gets his fireball we should try and organise some clips of us doing the 2 guitar parts for a song. We will both have nailbombs and Engls. Ultimate tone!!!!!!  :twisted:

Yeah the diezel's are amazing! I would want a Herbert. But they are like £2400!!

So for now i will be happy with an also amazing amp.

I think www.thomann.de do one for around £500 or so. The screamer is also really cool, which is one of the cheaper models, i think.

Nice one Dez, Engel make awesome amps. Whith that red light I can see why Rammstein use them.... never mind the sound!
I was amazed by the cleans on Tims screamer, Id love to hear yours!

i don´tlike the engl amps too,in fact,the only one i liked is the ritchie blackmore.
it´s less airy sound,andmore growl.

I was wondering, are Engl amps more available in Europe then anywhere else ? I know they are hard to get in the states and fairly exclusive in the Uk ( saying that, more and more people are dealing in Engl )

Good score, I have done six gigs with mine now and it sounds amazing !!

Tried the PBII the other week and it was much tightr in the bottom end, very nice but I can't complain as I'm happy with mine !

i think its ok as long as the amp was only on stand by mode.. otherwise, you may have 1 dead powerball :(

Ah but i think it'd be worth it based on my experiences (and others') with ENGL products. It should be very nice

Works out to be around £325.. not that bad actually but could get a new laney combo for that amount  :lol: Mind you the clips of the engl sound amazing. How do you make it louder when you bypass the preamp on an amp though? Would the volume control on the amp panel still work.. or what?
