i've heard many good things on Vintage Guitars, and this one is really tempting me... i'm thinking to sell one of my Ibanez to free a "slot" and feel a bit less guilty. that would make 3 guitars in the last 4 months...
what do you think?

I've heard nothing but good things about them, but ultimately it is a budget guitar.... I wonder if it will seem a bit cr@p next to your Cicolins and other stuff?
-
I kinda agree with PQ - I just bought 2 Vintage guitars, and to be honest they're just taking space. I'm thinking about pimping the SG, but I really can't be arsed.
Will probably just put them back on Ebay!
BUT - for the price, they're great.

uh... yes, it will for sure! but you know how GAS works... put it this way, every time i see an ebony Les Paul standard i feel a little black hole inside my guts... but i'd better wait to raise money for a proper standard, i think!

Or get a nice Japanese Tokai Love Rock like mine :D (cheaper, than the "proper" one, and just as yummy)

When you see a sunburst Les Paul Standard do you feel a little amber-gradually-darkening-to-brown-or-cherry hole inside your guts?

Three up from the bottom of the page. About the same price as the Vintage.

that's what I'd have thought, having not tried that specific model, but having tried other vintages.

I have a Vintage V6 Icon and it's amazing for the price, the hardware is top notch usually things for this price would just go out of tune straight away but myn is solid. Nice sound too.
-
They're great guitars but their quality wasn't as good when they started out (they used to sell new for about £80) so be careful if you're buying used. No such worries however if you're buying new.
I recently got a Peter Green Lemon Drop guitar and it's a cracking guitar. Joe's comment about hardware is true, the tuner are very solid and pots feel nice and smooth with reassuring resistance. Humbuckers are not bad either! i don't feel any need for upgrade at all.

I've been regularly impressed by their value for money, but they arent impressive in any absolute sense.
I think phillys right, you get this lined up next to your decent guitars and especially your cicolins (if how budget and even normal high end stuff compares to my legras is anything to go by) and youre probably just not going to play it after a month and wish that you filled that hole with a LP style guitar thats genuinely good.

I really love my Vintage SG copy (VS6). The finish is a little sloppy in places but the hardwear seems great, it stays in tune and resonates really well. Bear in mind I used to own a USA standard Tele, which whilst it was finished better, I didn't like it half as much as I like this guitar - but then I'm probably just not a Tele' person.

I really ought to try a Vintage guitar one day (my first resonator is a Vintage, but I don't really think I can make much judgement from a tin-geetar and transpose it across!)
The day I bought my Tokai, I went out looking for Vintage and couldn't find any, and this thing was so good it sucked me into adding a couple of hundred to my budget. Even though it's one of the least played guitars in my armoury (not really a Les Paul man, but I want what one does sometimes), I don't regret it at all, and I'm not tempted to "why don't I try to find a Gibson, like the one I played a few months before the Love Rock?" ... partly because if I [i[was[/i] going to buy a real one, that's the one I should have bought, but it wasn't (and still isn't) worth the 2-3 times more that it cost...
I suspect that if I'd bought a Vintage that day, I might have got suckered into finding and buying a decent Gibson by now... (or a Tokai) but I don't know for certain, which is partly why I'd like to try one.
I'm a great believer in good budget geetars - it's all most of us really need... But if you've got into guitars "above" budget, then it's gonna take a special sort of person to be able to appreciate long-term the budget one next to the expensive one of another design... like others, I'm not convinced I'm that special!!
