I've waited over a year for PhillyQ to sell it, he let me know it was going a few days ago, I thought about it all of 20 seconds.
Black Dog in the bridge and a Stormy Monday in the neck.
Happily reunited with Phil's Potbelly (that sounds terrible!).

Congrats on the NGD. It does indeed look very nice, and I'll bet it sounds fantastic with that BKP combo.
I must admit when I saw Philly had this guitar for sale in Seconds Out I did think about it for a minute, but I resisted temptation.
-
I was also severely tempted when I saw it.... but some b@stard had already bought it
Congratulations :D
-
Blimey, it looks good, your photos are so much better than mine! :o Maybe I shouldn't have sold it!
Glad you like it, Andy! :D What d'you think of the Black Dog and Stormy Monday?
(For those who missed out, I still have the Tokai and PRS, if you have cash burning holes in your pockets! )
-
Ha ha... I was eyeing that one up too! Beautiful guitar, congrats

I like the pickups, I knew what the SM was like as Juansolo has had one in the neck before. The BD reminds me of my VHII with more mids.
-
Yep, great looking guitar!
I also found the BD to be a beefier VHII, nice description!
-
Not normally a V fan, but that's very nice.

I am not a fan of V's but that does go well with your carpet.

Can I ask about the photos? They're obviously indoors, but is it just a nice bright room with plenty of daylight, or did you use some clever lighting?
(Just thinking about helping myself with future sales.... )

Bright room, and a camera with a big lens.
Camera is a 5 year old Fuji S5500, nothing special. Big lens means it gets lots of light, and doesn't need to fire the flash as much as a compact.

Thanks for the tip! :)
-
Awesome! :)
-
Yeah, they are really class pictures :D
-
Here's a pic just for Phil :)
Forced the flash, to bring out the flame.

Ah, the old team, reunited (not that the Potbelly was actually in my house for very long)! Thanks Andy. :D
I've forgotten, what pickups did you put in the Potbelly?

The owner after you, put the reverse zebras in, I assume they came stock with covered. It's still got the SD 59 in the neck he put it in, but I can only stand a JB for so long (I'd love to hear an original 80's one, as I like the sound of them on record), so the bridge was replaced with a Cold Sweat :)
-
Yeah, the original pickups were a covered JB and '59 (and the V's pickups were open black JB and '59).
Cold Sweat is a good choice! :)
-
Did swap the pup ring screws with smaller ones like I did on the PB. The originals were huge and looked weird.

Good spot! Yes, I swapped the chrome screws on the V for black ones. I also swapped the pickup rings themselves - they were the normal angled type but the pickups weren't parallel with the strings so I replaced them with flat rings.
-
Congratulations on the guitar. When I saw Philly's initial post in seconds out I could not help think someone was going to get a nice guitar. If I was right handed I would have been intrested myself too.
Enjoy

Tasty!
