Title: Halestorm
Post by: juansolo on April 18, 2010, 10:37:12 AM
Went to see Theory of a Deadman (who weren't much cop in all honesty), but the night was saved by Halestorm, one of the support acts. Great energy, great performance, great tunes. Bought the album and had a meet and greet (all so very young...) and what a top bunch they are. I hope the do well. Highly recommend catching them if they're in the area. Sort of a bit Femme Fatale crossed with a bit of Juliette Lewis... Sorta...

That wasn't bad!

Shows how totally out of touch I am, but it seemed very old-school..... is melodic hard rock with proper vocals making a bit of a comeback (he says hopefully)?

The album is pretty damned good (it's on spotify). As you say, a bit old school melodic rock in places. It's been on constant play in the car since I got it :)

i think so (or at least hope so) Getting a bit tired of having to choose between br00tz with cookie monster growls or lame indie.

Delve deeper!

There's more variety in music than there has ever been at any point in history! Whatever music you like, there are hundreds of bands making it, they're just not all in the charts.

That was really good - I enjoyed it a lot (thought it was a lot better than Juliette Lewis)

Like the V - is it a recent one or one of the 1985 graphic series?

oh i know that, i just mean it's nice being able to turn on scuzz (or even mtv) and see something which is half decent.

oh i abandoned the radio yonks ago (if i ever took it up in the first place). well, ok, planet rock maybe and a bit of classic fm.

but for tv it's mainly when i'm watching something and there are 5 minutes of adverts per 10 minutes of programming. I'm not going to watch the puerile adverts for 5 minutes, so i might as well flick through teh music channels.
