Title: v-picks are epic!!!
Post by: JDC on April 24, 2010, 10:46:47 PM
so I was suppose to order one about 3 month ago but as usual I never got round to it, anyway ordered new string and picks yesterday morning, arrived today, got plenty of new ones to try out, v-pick, ultex sharp, paul gilbert sig pick, rusty cooley pick, 11 in total + the 6 pack of ultex

pointy medium V pick makes the purchase of the rest almost pointless, it's got so little pick noise against the string, that reminds me of the old jazztone 208 I have, but keeps the articulation of say a jazz III, I think this is because the tip is pointed but the edges themselves are rounded

size of the medium one is about half way between a small jazz III and a jazz III XL, so next time I might try a large one, just I hope the tips have a decent life as they cost £3 each, no idea what the material is

I think a certain archtop player on here might like it, as well as a telecaster hater who used to love his 3mm tri stubbies ;)

I bought a couple of V picks myself a few months back. I kinda liked them at first, but they wore down very quick for me. Didn't get on with the feel of them too, like I could dig in hard enough.

Yeah, they're neat. I couldn't stand the amount of highs it cuts. They smoothen out your tone TOO much. Also the thickness made me feel like it took longer to pluck a note, thus very annoying. If that makes any sense XD
I usually use the .73 dunlop ultex, so going from that to a v pick was just crazy! XD
