Title: Backup tele needs a make over =) New bridge pickup ideas? =)
Post by: thisisnickpaige on April 25, 2010, 06:48:21 AM
So my new tele is getting the piledriver bridge from the old tele so what to do for this bridge pickup? Due to the obvious ash cloud problems right now and my desire to be different im thinking of getting a DiMarzio Chopper T bridge. Any one try this pickup out? It's going in a single piece maple neck with a 2 piece alder body, 3 brass saddles, string thru that is surprisingly bright.  I've heard only good reviews of this pickup, one of my friends who had a piledriver as well called it dimarzio's attempt at a piledriver with more hair metal tendencies, what do y'all think?

+1 - There are some videos of him using this on the Cornford site as well as Youtube - (however he would make anything sound good)

Well for this new tele i want more of a trebly crunchier brighter sound. I got the piledriver in my current one so i want something brighter i was thinking either dimarzio chopper t or a yardbird. Only fear with that is too bright. I want it to have good attack so when i strike it quick it hits ya, ya know? Any brand really, i just want an idea or a tone to be lookin for. Is that more of a midrange thing or a treble?

Brown Sugar will give you that crunchy treble sound.
