Took the back off my Koch this evening and found a loose pre-amp valve. I screwed my Koch back together plugged in and it works! Thanks for the advise on Koch maintenance!
-
Glad your Koch is back in working order, John.

I bet the missus is happy!

Koched and loaded!

Anyone willing to place a bet on what year this joke will stop being funny?

Yeah I'm relieved it was only a minor problem. Smashing ones Koch on brickwork next to ones front door doesn't half give you a shock. It just goes to show how hard they are. Its the first thing to go wrong with it after 5 years of hard use.

Not anytime soon...
A good hard koch is a credit to a man...

Indeed.
You not like the Koch Doc?

gotta say, I couldn't use a screwdriver on a koch...it'd hurt me to do it

It's the amount of "juice" inside the Koch that scares me... Even if the Koch hasn't been played with for a long time.
I think its best to employ a professional who's got experience of servicing other peoples Kochs.

I've seen adverts for vacuum tubes thingies that can improve your Koch

Yeah, I suspect the technology's come on a fair bit since you bought yours Johnny - it might be worth having a look at the ads for the newer models...
Oh, you've already been looking into it... New Koch On The Block (http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=20990.0), my mistake... (sounds a bit more painful then I remember though...)
-
For a second then I thought Feline said 'since your johnnies' I didn't think you could buy johnnys for your Koch

Sounds intriguing Jonathan! Got any more info on this?

It has had a nice creamy, fluid overdrive since I've owned it Dave. Perhaps new valves would give a thicker feel.

Ah yes a bit more girth would allow you to get to grips with it and wring every ounce of fluid output from your Koch

Just don't let the experience shake your confidence. It happens to everyone at some point.
