Whats a good EQ pedal to buy?
I know of the Boss GE-7 and the MXR 6 band and 10 band ones but i don't know any others or how well built these are. I don't need anything serious just a well built pedal that doesn't give out excess noise and all that. Any suggestions?

I have an MXR M109 (the 6-band one). It's certainly very sturdy & doesn't seem to add any noise. There's more flexibility than you really need (turning any of the bands as much as halfway between centre & top gives the amp a serious KICK ).

+1, I've got the same model, fantastic piece of kit. I've used it constantly with every amp I've had for the past 3 years.

I've got a Boss GE-7 that I don't use anymore. It SLAYS to use as a mid and volume boost for leads in for FX loop. It is a bit noisy but are you really going to notice that in a live setting? It also works pretty well in driving the pre-amp of a valve amp too!

The best EQ I've tried is the MXR 6-band by a mile - mine is an older blue one with no on/off footswitch (i.e. designed to be run 'on' all the time. It's very musical and doesn't thin your tone out at all. I'd also say its less hissy than the Boss EQ (from memory).

MXR 10-band is treating me well. The Boss can be found dirt cheap used, and it's good too.

modded boss ge-7 is my fave. the mxr is better than the stock boss.
