I'll start,
you are being made redundant and are still seriously considering buying a Suhr or custom shop strat.....
because I am, and I am
-
.....you think about wich body parts you could sell.
-
... you thought you wouldn’t need another amp for ages... finally!!
But now just can’t stop listening to the samples of that amp you never heard of before and gathering all info about it...
-
... you're walking home with a guitar case you didn't have when you left the house and you can't really remember how it came to be in your hands...
-
...you walk into a shop for a set of strings and come home with;
1) a 1970 Gibson Les Paul Custom
2) an 80 watt Traynor amp
3) a 1965 Gibson Melody Maker...
i am changing the locks on my own house and will be phoning people to let me out for supervised visits to work and grocery shops only!
-
...you give up drinking to finance a guitar. Only joking folks, it'll never happen.
By the way Dazza, the blue PRS in your avatar is giving me the right horn. How much do you want for it?
-
couldn't care less about instruments and amps anymore.. i got what i love and it's staying that way. don't need anything more..
though what IS giving me GAS, is this:

should be going to check it out next saturday..
-
....you buy a guitar, then immediately decide you've got to buy another of the same model, just as "backup".

damn! forgot about the internet!!! :)

I have been thinking exactly this about my Les Paul this week - it's so good, I'm going to need a spare one. I now realise that I have a problem. Thank you for the the self-awareness Philly, please can we have a whip-round for the therapist bills?
-
.... You're Twinfan and see someting with strings on it.

I've actually done this three times (even though I don't gig so the whole "backup" concept is nonsense  ). Therapy might be an idea.

you use, "at least i'm not as bad as twinfan" as justification...
;)

Or in my case: "I am as bad as Twinfan, but at least mine cost less"

I'm not that bad, I'd buy a rosewood neck and a maple neck version to justify the extra expense. Although I was thinking of buying a sienna sunburst tele to match my sienna sunburst strat, just because they'd look so cool as a matching pair.
Hang on a minute, I don't have a sienna sunburst strat with three single coils, only the HSS version ... brb, checking prices.

You buy a guitar in order to put a pickup in it, to try out the pickup.
You buy an amp 'for the lounge', rather than move the practice amp you have 20 feet.
Then you buy another.
You keep spare speakers and valves and pickups around in case you change your mind about what youre using at the moment.
-
You watch ALL the Fretted Americana Phil X Strat videos.........TWICE.
You go down to the local music store and play all their American Special Strats and complain loudly that Fender hasn't offered a hard tail yet.
You complain to the manager "How come Sweetw@ter has 72 Deluxe Roadworn Teles and you don't? That CBS head is COOL!!!!"
.....all because I'm waiting for parts for my latest Parts-O-Caster.
-
Or in my case: "I am as bad as Twinfan, but at least mine cost less"

Uh oh.
That's how my Wolfgang USA collection started.
At least I completely liquidated my JEM collection....
Now I'm in the midst of an parts-o-caster feeding frenzy (because I don't have a backup) but I've kept my two best Wolfies...

I will part with body parts before that goes anywhere, it has runined every other guitar I've ever had / played
Apart from maybe this but am still in the honeymoon period
