i want to buy a bridge holy diver...i just wondering..is it good for a big fuzz tone ala white stripes and for chunking rithmics ala tom morello?
i have a bright voiced mahogany les paul copy, with split coil runs trought an orange

anybody? TT

up...nobady can help me?for this sound is better a nailbomb?
-
I'm no expert, but neither of those bands strike me as using a higher gain tone. My first thought would have been something more like a Blackdog or perhaps an Emerald. Hopefully someone who REALLY knows what they're talking about on this subject will chime in. If not, refer back to rule #1........."OH TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMM........."

tim suggest me a nailbomb...but before buy it i wanna hear other suggestions...(it should be good for the chunky rage and tool sound).but i don't know if a nailbomb work well with a big muff.i don't want a muffled tone..but a huge and raw fuzz tone
-
the nailbomb seems to be tim's favorite model, and he recommends them for most stuff
I find the nailbomb to be way too aggressive for that
the holy diver will work, but still too modern sounding
I'd pick a crawler
-
For fuzz tones?
I doubt crawlers have the top end for the fuzzy effecty stuff to work with.
I'd get the nailbombs.

I got a nailbomb in my LP clone and it can get quite Morello (maybe a bit too modern sounding), but I'm not really sure that a fuzz pedal would be the right choice for the Morello sound. His sound isn't fuzzy in my opinion. I also think that the nailbomb is too modern sounding for White Stripes. I got a semi hollow with Mississippi Queens and it can sound very White Stripe-ish when played through the Orange amp in amplitube 3. But the MQ's might not cut it for Morello... ? :?
Hopefully my answer is useful.

now i'm really confused...i don't want replicate the tom morello tone with a fuzz..but i want be able to have a cut distortion like him and at the same time a pick up that works well wit a big muff ( because i love that trashy big sound of jack white)..i have found a second hand holy diver...buti don't know if it's too modern,or too dark...and i don't know if nailbomb work well with a fuzz...what can i do?
-
My best advice is: Try out the holy diver. If it doesn't suit you I'm pretty sure you'll be able to sell it to someone else quite easily
-
but do u think that a hd covers my style pretty well?
-
for example...works a holy diver well with fuzz(a big punk fuzz tone)?can i get a raw sound that is not a full metal distortion?have it enough bottom end to make that cut distortion alla tom morello?
-
anybody? :(
-
I can't really comment on the Holy Diver as I have never tried the pickup. Sorry mate. I hope someone else will chip in soon
-

I'd just like to point out that you have an EXCELLENT taste in music sir. I'm actually listening to Wake of Magellan as I type this.

I think the Nailbomb would be a great choice - it's very open and dynamic for a high-output pickup, so it's really quite versatile.
That said, it's not your only choice. You could also consider pretty much anything from the vintage-hot range, and even the Mules too.
I wouldn't suggest the Holy Diver though.
