This project took way longer than I wanted it to; too much stuff got in the way. But it's at 99% completion now. Plays/sounds great. Not thought of a name for it yet.

Really nice! :)

That's nice, I'm a big fan of clean elegant uncluttered design.
Hang on a minute, no volume control? Is that the final 1% or are you one of those rare souls brave enough to live with the pickup wired straight to the jack?

Nope, no volume/tone pots for me!!

Simple design is the best design, well done sir.
I always disconnect the tone pots, never seen the point of them. Volume pots I just use as an on/off switch, I suppose I could rip those out and put in a switch.
Will we be treated to sound clips of this new beast any time soon?

nice :D

If I scroll down so I cant see the headstock, thats really understatedly sexy!
I like! Except the headstock.

No change there then!
Looks cool, but I'm curious about details: did the headstock have a locking nut at one point? And was the body finished? It's unusual to see a 3-piece Warmoth body.

I know you're dying to take the plunge! :)

It originally had a locking nut behind the standard one, like Lynch's original tiger.
I've since removed it and will probably not be using any locking nut if I can get away with it. Standard nut improves the tone by quite a bit.
Finish is a light spray of nitro.

Not brave enough! I wouldn't mind a single bridge pickup with just a volume control, but I do like a tone control for the neck pickup (I love that muddy tone-on-zero sound!).

I think you're right (based on my limited experience of locking nuts). I don't know if it's just the extra length of string behind the nut, or if the locking nut sort-of "removes" the mass of the headstock from the tone equation.

Workmanlike = great imo.

wha!??????????????
where is the obnoxiously attention grabbing finish? the other pickup? the built in special effects? All the simpleness is so confusing! :P
-
awesome, love the plain maple board

haha, reminds me of an Ikea desk for some reason. I'm sure its a great guitar though, just looks a little too plain for me!

I think the good Cap'n is referring to his own Matt Bellamy inspired taste in guitars!
