...so much so that I've only done it once in the 9 years I've owned the guitar
Restringing my 12-string :( :?
I've put it off as the strings got ever rustier & rustier, but last night one of them snapped (at the nut - that's never happened to me before :?) so I'm going to bite the bullet & get it done.
Wish me luck, I'm going in....

there is always the option of putting it in for a setup so you get out of the re-stringing

Convert it to a Diddley Bow

Can't say I envy you, I've had a set of acoustic strings sat on my shelf for 6 months because I hate dealing with bridge pins.

Good luck! I'd totally throw it to Feline do it

Could be worse man, I've had to restring a custom 12 string Martin with a slotted headstock, it's very first string change for a customer before he collected and had to not scratch the hell out of the inside of that headstock

Could be worse man...

at least its worth it - 12 strings sound lovely... till they start going out of tune again ;)

So that's what Albert Steptoe is up to these days.

Believe me, I was sorely tempted to drive the 60 miles to Feline's place with it  (I have a few other things need doing too + I get to play with his HTH combo & Egnater M4 while I'm there :))
All done now. Only took me the best part of an hour
Sadly, these D'Addario things don't look like they'll last the 6 or so years the Elixirs did (though they did sound like cr@p towards the end of that time )

EXACT same thing happened to me last night! Conspiracy?
