so i have bad gas for an SLO-100.
debating selling all the amps I own and just pooling the cash.
I'm even debating ordering it via france/germany/holland to avoid sounds great. I doubt thomann would be able to hook me up with the options I want. (no loop, added depth mod).
Frank JPF has my clone. I feel bad for bombarding him with mails asking for updates. I got the headshell for it a few days ago and it looks nice (orange... much like my other amps. lol)

but the noise issue led me to passing it to frank for a more experienced opinion on the problem.

It's like it doesn't exist.

In which case, I'd be finding another tech to have a look at it so I could get it back sooner (Sorry Frank!)

I think Frank is doing me a favour by looking at it.
When the noise problem first appeared I tried called a few places once I'd run out of useful sources of information elsewhere. I think I know of maybe 5 tech's in london. 1 refused to help me on any level. Said he hadn't heard of an SLO, and said he no interest in looking at it, or talking about it at all. It was pretty blunt, and It kind of annoyed me.
The other guy is a fella I used for guitar related bits that I can't do myself. It's closer to my house, but I just didn't go there with this because I know that guy has missed faults i've found myself... I wanted a better tech to look at this.
There is another massively unfriendly guy I went to a few years back when I had a pint tipped into a JCM900 I had. That guy put me off ever seeing a tech again and thats how I ended up getting into the technical side of amplifiers.
The next is the tech at chandlers in Kew. I was once offered a modded marshall trade for my uberschall, the mods done by chandlers. So I called up and got some advice over the phone. Basically added a few tests to my list.
So Frank has easily been most helpful, followed by the guy at chandlers.
I think when it comes to noise in amps, especially DIY amps, there is a lack of physical help. plenty of eHelp, but that only gets you so far sometimes.
I think I built my amp pretty well. I'm thinking about getting the PCB's again and populating them in case there is a component error. I heard from someone who had 3 bad filter caps in his amp... same brand as mine... could have a few issues going on still.
would have been nice to use it for my bands last show but it doesn't matter that much.
my last option is a valve/amp/radio enthusiast who lives on a canal barge.

If you can ship it, or take it somewhere else in the UK, then there must be several techs who could look at it. MJW or HTH here on the forum would be two possibles?
