Title: Marty Friedman lead tone- HD or Rebel yells?
Post by: asianaxeman on May 29, 2010, 11:47:09 AM
Hi guys, after having a ball with my ceramic sets - MM, PK, C-Bomb....I'd like to delve in to alnico V for a warmer, juicier lead tone...but retaining tightness for rhythm..

what do you reckon in the best non-ceramic setup for rust in peace megadeth sound, particularly marty friendman's juicy rounded lead tone?

I've been thinking NB neck, RY bridge.....but now am intrigued by HD calibrated set? The pickups would be for a mahogany flying V ....opinions please!

I find the MQ neck is perfect for friedmans lead tones.

It can be a bit thick for rhythm thought but most neck pups are
