I kinda miss it.
I'm the original owner by the way, I didn't get Jonathan to make it, I bought it like that from him in 2005 for a bit more than what the seller is asking for.
-
Are you tempted to buy it back, Steve?
-
Really wish I could Phil, but I'm not getting enough work and struggling to even pay for petrol :(
-
I was feeling setimental for my old Gordon Smith the other day, I had a quick look on ebay just in case it was on there.
It's a bit sad when you miss an old guitar :(
-
I keep hoping my early-'80s Hamer Vector will appear on eBay - it seems unlikely!
-
I still trawl ebay occasionally searching for a 1986 Japanese Squier strat to replace the one I gave to a friend. I know someone who has an identical one in absolute showroom condition but he's not selling. Yet.
edit: this but in black would be exact: HUGE eBay URL (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-1986-Fender-Squier-Stratocaster-Japan-White-/130398275282?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item1e5c57c6d2) except mine was an E5 serial number so very slightly earlier than that one

Now that is nice

Currently two days on the auction and no bids ... hmmm, developing a severe attack of GAS here. Time to hide the credit cards.

"but an ESP endorsement means i can/have to clear out the non ESP-branded gear!!"
THE $%?!?
You cant even have your own shite thats not ESP in the damned studio, you cant own what you choose?
-
i have known players sell stuff off because of endorsement deals. usually they say something like 'if i cant play it live then i have no reason for keeping it'.
makes very little sense to me ;)

It's a bit misleading
ESP wouldn't MAKE him sell all other gear
He's choosing to or having to in order to afford to buy the ESPs - an endorsement deal isnt usually giving free guitars - rather more getting a reduced price on them
-
yeah, its normally trade price... wont cost ESP a thing
i think the whole 'endorsement deal' thing sucks! with some of the local bands i speak to who are doing alright they are an integral part of getting signed. yep - we will sign you but you have to go and spend your money with these companies... and then we need to send you to a stylist, change your name and decide what genre box you will be forced into
-
Thanks for the clarification Jonathan.
That sounds pretty shite. Clearly the labels are concerned about the bands marketability and image, but its still very gay.
And why ESP get the endorsments I have no idea, but thats another rant (probably the most overrated guitars that actually still seem to get a good reputation. It confuses me. Most that I've played have been pretty, name hardware covered, but acoustically dead planks...oops, proto-rant, must stop)
