No, it's great!!!

What's wrong with you people???

I expect bad taste from Roo, but the rest of you???

(had a call from our Singapore helpdesk at 5 this morning, so feeling a littly punchy...  BUT - I still love the guitar!)

Headless guitars and basses are just wrong to me.

I'm not really fond of guitars with a big upper cutaway as well.

The conclusion: Sorry to say it, but you are WRONG!  :D

I really don't like it at all, but the body shape is the worst part for me - especially those sharp corners on the horns.  It looks like someone rough-cut a Strat body blank then decided to leave it unfinished.  Then they took a photo and stretched/morphed it around in Photoshop.

Having said all that, I think the shape would look a lot better on a bass guitar.

The only Steinberger I like is the original cricket bat shape, that was a truly innovative design.  I used to have the cheapo Spirit version, which was quite good.  I felt uncomfortable carrying it around, though, because in the gig bag it looked worryingly like a rifle.... I was afraid of being gunned down by some trigger-happy cops on the Tube.  :?

It's funny, I quite LIKE the body shape - and could take or leave the headless design.

But I love the trem - I've always loved the TransTrem concept; I believe Van Halen Summer Nights was played on one, and I've always loved the sound of that.

Also, there are some awesome tones available:

You're wrong, just plain wrong

(Look at it this way: Roo will probably like it)

I'm with Philly, the original "cricket bat" is quite cute, but that's about it for me...

regular forum members will know i have four headless guitars (one of which is for sale):

stock hohner gt3 in silver (for sale)
spirit by steinberger gp2 in red with cold sweats
steinberger gp2 in vintage white with miracle men rebuilt by feline
steinberger gp2 in black with warpig, transtrem and union jack scratchplate rebuilt by wezv

these guitars are so portable for gigging/practising when not wanting to take a load of stuff - and they sound good too.

the zt under discussion is a great guitar design i think. i have problems with playing a superstrat myself, even if i really like seeing others with them.

Let me run down my guitar choice checklist ...

1) is it a stratocaster? no
2) is it a telecaster? no

well that only leads to one conclusion, it's an ugly guitar
