After finally managing to get rid of the bitsa, I got this little beauty:
It's the Burny RLC-55 RR AWT...like new. The guy who bought it played it a couple of times & couldn't get on with it...soooo we did a swop.
Man these are nice guitars
I've wnated one of the white custom Les Paul's for a while, just something about that Randy Rhoads look that does it for me. The pickups in it aren't that bad, but it needs beefing up, so a set of Emeralds are going in to see if I can get this Bunny boiling.

Very nice 8)

It looks quite cream in real life compared to the picture as well
-
That's Horse'um! Great looking guitar... what you going to do pick up wise or does it sound great already?
-
sticking a set of Emeralds in there there to give it a nice gritty edge bud
-
Lookin' good! :D Is that one of the new Burnys or a vintage(ish) piece?
-
Emeralds eh? I've never heard them live but I'm very curious... what's the tone reference for them in terms of tracks?
-
good catch hh, looks great. there's a set of emeralds half price in 'seconds out' as we speak!

"Emerald" by Thin Lizzy (apologies if I misunderstood the question! ).
I believe they're (roughly) based on the pickups used in '70s Les Pauls. Have a look for the threads where Hunter reviewed his Emeralds, they were the first which gave me an idea of how the Emeralds are distinct from other pickups in the range.

i got some emeralds and it took a while to find the right guitar for them, not the one i originally htought! - but i now have them in an all mahogany through neck and am very happy with them
-
Cheers guys for the info, I did realise they would be lizzy inspired but actually the track Emerald! Doh..... One of my favorite tracks too 8)

gordiji...I know...I bought them ;)
Phil, it's one of the newer ones. I'd heard a lot about he classic issue ones, but when I went to do the trade wuith the strat, we played each others for a while & I fell for it. Nice medium to heavy body & the neck profile is lovely on them. once I've got it hot rodded I'm sure it'll be one of my gigging guitars

nice
