I picked 1 but if it was mine would swap out the white knobs for black ones and put in black open coils

The covers look the best, the rings look naff and the open coil would be better if they were black.

I like the covers on this one, but I think you should revert to more conventional Gibson-style knobs.

Don't like the cream rings, but you should go for black rings on the Faded.

I would have gone for open and rings, but after looking at the pictures open looks best.

thanks for the responses so far..

well, I agree the rings look naff. was worth trying it though.

the guitar is laying around with double creme open coils at the moment - it looks quite nice. i will probably put the covers back on though, but i'll ponder a few more days.

I hadn't noticed the strat knobs! Yeah, put them back on a strat - the fantastic look of strat knobs is spoiled when you put them on a non-strat

I have to admit, I do like that option.

going to have to say no to the covers and rings option i'm afraid - i don't think it works with the '67 V look.

thanks for all the ideas though - i'm still not certain here.

I voted for the open look, but the point is: A5 mule and SM? they sounded awesome when I played them

its an a5 mule bridge and a normal a4 mule neck - good combo :)

went for the white open coils in the end.

the main reason was i fancied something different, i agree with everyone it looks a bit better with the covers on. the open white looks very early 80s modified - as fernando said in his post.

i took out the jap enclosed switch as well and replaced it with a nice switchcraft item. i've also lowered the stop tail right to the body - nice improvement in sustain! i'll wait to see if i get more string breakages

changed things around *again*.

the t-tops are in the greco, and the a5/4 mules are in the faded.

greco now looks like:
