Some of you guys may well remember I built a Korina Lion , which was a real stunner and was finished in a turquoise colour that looked a bit more aquamarine due to the yellow hue of the Korina - here she is :
Loaded with Bare Knuckle VH2s and featuring an impossibly hard ebony fingerboard (was hell to cut for inlays)
Hardware choices were Sperzel machineheads, Earvana compensated tuning nut, tonepros bridge and locking studs and an aluminium tailpiece.
I was sure that I would keep this beast for myself, but alas it was not to be
A regular customer came in and tried it and put the asking price down on the counter and I had to let him take her home.
So I consoled myself that I already had an identical spec (apart from the rosewood fingerboard) guitar in the works.
A couple of months went by and the customer popped in to buy strings and to tell me how thrilled he was with the guitar.
He asked if I was still feeling heartbroken to have let her go and I explained that I already had plans underway for a similar guitar and this time I figured that it had to be purple.
I showed him the work in progress and you can probably guess what happened........he bought that one too! (or at least put a deposit on it and would pay off in instalments.
So the time has come to unveil the "sister" guitar- here she is:

The only other spec changes to the original is that this one has a Graphtech Ghost Piezo bridge , so she can turn on acoustic sounds too, and the inlays are a slightly different pattern

I'm looking forward to getting a chance to photo them together
In the meantime here they are for comparison

Oh my, that looks fantastic! I do love the purple Lions that you've come up with so far! :)
-
Man, seriously... This is one of the best looking Lions I've seen, I love it!! Love how the wood looks on this purple!!!!
Congrats to the damn bugger who bought it!!! I'm jealous as a 2years old child who got a baby brother and everybody forgot he exists :(

That sounds like the bitter voice of experience!
Looks great, the korina top makes such a nice change from maple. I really like the block and triangle inlays too. :D
As ever, not 100% keen on those fancy knobs, but of course they'd be easy to change.
-
Phroarww! :D That is so nice.
So it was a lady who bought these fine guitars, or did I read that wrong? Whoever owns them has some seriously tasty guitars.
Did the purple one get VHII's too?
It has nearly all the same hardware as mine. God your guitars are good!
-
Holy F'in cr@p! What fantastic looking guitars...... I just can't get the words out of my mouth to say how much I like both..... 8)

I think you read it too fast, JM, and got your personal pronouns mixed up, the "shes" and "hers" are the guitars!
-
Mighty fine :D
I think I prefer her to the aquamarine one.
EDIT: (The emerald one is still my favourite looker though :D)
-
I remember playing the Aquamarine one at LGS a few years back and it was a gorgeous player, I'm willing to be this one is too.
MR Law, I am so looking forward to getting my paws on some Feline creations at the meet.

nice! you're so used to seeing LPs in more "normal" colours that you forget they can look good in other colours, too. they look great. :D
-

That's a shame. I thought maybe they're is one hell of a cool chick out there with two Feline Lions just needing to make a pride with my one

That new girl is the sex right there, beautiful colour over a nice grain. + 1 on the triangle inserts to the blocks I think I prefer them to the diagonal inserts your doing on the ltd ed. Lions.
I think we need some soundclips though???
-
There is a little clip of the purple one from before she had paint on her

Guitar sounds damn good - will only improve with a bit of playing in
-
Damnit dude! Now I need a Green one AND a Purple one. Stop building guitars, please, you're making it hurt more! :x
Seriously sexy axe mate, another fine job. :D
-
Did some photos of the two together for the owner

They look great! Interesting that he went for two guitars with such similar specs (I suppose it's a case of ain't broke, don't fix it!)
-
I still think that the Marine one is/was one of the nicest guitars I've ever played. Looking back I can't believe that I didn't get the credit card out at the LGS "offer" price - perhaps I was taking my wife's thread ("If you come home with another guitar, I shall divorce you") seriously... :)
-
Not the colors I'd want for my guitars but they do look stunning.

ditto - that Marine Lion is hands down the best LP guitar I ever played.

To make it worse - it has matured very nicely over the 3 years since it sold.
Gets played a lot , has a couple of small dings in it, but it plays and sounds better than I recall it doing back then
I don't want to give it back!
-
they look awesome :D
-
I just LOVE this purple one! :(
