Hi all,
Just got a Nato-bodied Tokai SG for very cheap and looking to replace the pickups, and add push-pull pots on the tone controls for series/parallel switching.
Sound wise I'd like to be able to cover my fave 3 SG tones
Clapton's 'woman tone'
Kim Thayil's Guild SG in Soundgarden
A bit of Angus ;)
I don't know much about the properties of Nato as a tonewood other than it being called a cheap mahogany. Tonally at the mo the is a nice bright brash ringing to a strummed chord, but no real detail or 'oomph', while the neck pickup is very mid heavy and pretty muddy. Any pickup suggestions gratefully received. :)

T-Tops (newly available, not on the site yet) or Riff Raffs will do the trick!

Ooh T-tops? Tell me more :D

Err, based on the old Gibson pickups! If you do a search, there were a couple of threads about them not too long ago...

t-top comparison somewhere here:
