Title: NAD
Post by: phlip on June 24, 2010, 01:45:02 PM
Not Boutique or posh or rare. But a great £80 off list and it does sound very good indeed and is noisy drummer loud enough.
HT 40 Club Combo, a more than good enough clean channel and Drive from crunchy blues to way more gain than I'll ever Need metal.
And I have a post work Jam tonight to properly crank it.

Cool, happy new amp day! I've yet to try them as I'm pretty content although they seem to be gaining support. Enjoy  8)

Jam went fine indeed. It's a loud sucker!

I've replaced the stock TAD pre-amp valves with a Gold pin JJ in V1 and a standard JJ in V2 and it sounds even better, the gain is tighter and fatter, but there seems to be a bit less that's not an issue though this amp has way more gain than most people will need.
No reason why except why not :)

Gold pin JJ's may be snake oil but as I had it lying around doing nothing better.

Will need to record some clips when I can think of something to play which doesn't sound like bag of notes and hammers falling down a long staircase.
