Just got a new LTD ec goldtop and want to do some major upgrading. I am looking for a pickup set that will cover sounds ranging from blues (John Mayall) to classic/hard rock crunch tones (UFO, Widespread Panic). The guitar is all mahogany and a rosewood board. Sorry for the S**t pictures my camera is awful.

Mules?

I was thinking either those or a set of Crawlers. I just need to make up my mind.

Crawlers are indeed great for blues to classic/hard rock tones, but that's on my all-maple guitar. Don't know how they would sound with all this mahogany - perhaps great, perharps a bit on the dark side. Anyway : AskTim(tm)

If the guitar doesn't have a maple top I would steer clear of Crawlers - I think the bridge pickup would be too dark.

I'd suggest Cold Sweat - especially for the UFO stuff - would sound great

This is actually a good suggestion. I just remembered i have a CS Bridge not yet installed in anything, but I am very interested in a MQ neck, would they work well together?

How would Emeralds go in mahogany? Are they bright enough?
(Just thinking of another classic rock variant)

Emeralds are a great choice, I have them in my all Mahogany Will Scott custom

The Emerald bridge I have in my Edwards LP is plenty bright, crunchy, yet thick on leads. Love it and I'm sure it would do those styles well.

i wonder about riff raffs in there myself - only since i'm not sure anything high or mid gain is required. anyway - another viewpoint you might like to think about.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will probably be putting in a order near the end of the weekend. One more question, would MQs work well?
