Just wondering if anybody has any experience or opinions on the stetsbar tremolo? Have been thinking of putting one on my lp but I'd like to hear some feedback before I attempt anything
-
I was just reading about them last night. I looked into them a while back as well (I'm thinking Explorer, myself).
Operationally they sound as if they might be fabulous. But I'm not too keen on the look myself. If I could get over that, I think I might have one already!
Meanwhile, I also discovered last night that Vibramate (who have a product that enables you to install a Bigsby in tailpiece stud holes) are at this very moment developing a short Maestro version of their product... That's the baby I want... :D

I've just seen that - have to say the extra thickness of the Vibramate plate makes the Maestro look at bit clunky, but I'm sure it'll work well.
Frank, if you don't get a reply on this thread, try PM'ing blue. I know he has (or has had) a Stetsbar on one of his guitars.
I agree with Andy about the look. I'm not sure what it is, maybe it's just a bit too big and industrial-looking. Kinda steampunk, not at all sleek and modern. It would look cool on something like this:

... and I thought that V's couldn't be any less comfortable to play...

I fitted one a few years back to an Epi Zakk Wylde that I modded.
Quite nice for gentle effects but if you are looking for anything approaching Floyd Rose type bends forget it.
The plus side is you can try it as you will not need to damage the guitar to fit one....if you don't like it just take it off.
Apologies for cr@p pic!!

I wouldn't be looking for van halen diving, the furthest I go would be black night by deep purple or cause we've ended as lovers by jeff beck. Would it work ok for that?
