Hey guys, I'd like to introduce to you Niczy (shredaholic_nicz), he's the guy who co-created and runs Shredaholic.com with me. He's currently deciding on what gear to upgrade his rig with in the near future, and is checking out JCM800's and Bareknuckles - I'm thinking maybe you could help him find the perfect pair of pickups for his Jackson?
It'll be really cool when both of us have Bareknuckles, as we can proudly display on Shredaholic that we exclusively use Bareknuckle Pickups

Welcome! Hopefully he'll show up in this thread.

That was the plan!
I guess he's still typing

Hey everyone, thanks Baines for the little introduction. Basically the sound im looking for is pure heavy gain rhythm distortion without any cr@ppy ''digital'' feel to it that solid state amps have, and for lead a nice screaming tone which has lots a clarity and sustain and can cut through like a knife through hot butter. I'm into a lot of 80's metal, and after a little research, found that a lot of my top bands use the Marshall jcm 800 series. Also, i have heard from reviews that the ''warpig'' pickups are great for all aspects of good metal...even clean. So your thoughts guys would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

+1 for the mighty Warpig

80s metal?! I wouldn't know anything about that! PDT_008
For absolute versatility, you will probably hear Warpig and Nailbomb thrown around a lot.
I may be adding Cold Sweat to that list after this w/e ...

What your describing sounds kind of like the tone i'm going for. I have a similar set-up with a JCM800. I have a Nailbomb in the post, so when it gets here i'll be sure to tell you what i thought of it in terms of what we're looking for 8) Welcome to the forum man!

Probably the best way to go. I'm still experimenting with the Cold Sweat. Had much better results at home thru a Spawn Quick Rod than thru the Diezel at the studio!!

For a real screaming lead tone and the tones you are describing, go for either the Miracle man or the Cold sweat. The Miracle man has a more compressed tone with a very tight bass, perfect for fast shredding. The cold sweat has a slight more vintage tone "bigger" sound due to the fact that it is wound with vintage wire. The Cold sweat neck is the ultimate shread pickup too!
-
Hmm, maybe mircacle or cold sweat in the Neck and warpig in the bridge?
-
The Warpig is a more modern metal pickup, for 80's style I would go for a Miracle man set. It's ideal for tight rythm playing and screaming lead. The Warpigs lead tone isn't so cutting as the Miracle man.
