Hope this is the right place to post this, as it's not a Les Paul based topic ;)
For the last 23 or so years I have letched after a proper 12 string electric. Finally I have raised suitable funds and I (still) feel that Rickenbackers are the only real 12 string option (though if there was something special out there I am open to suggestions).
Like any good Les Paul devotee, this is probably as close to an religious experience that I am likely to have, Although older is not always better I do not really want to go in and buy something new from Pete Cooks or Sound Control.
I have checked out ricsrus many times and they seldom have anything over 3 years old. In the case of Denmark Stret they only ever seem to have left handers available, or the available items are in a pretty poor state.
Therefore :
I know what I'm looking is a little of the beaten track hence I though it nessicary to ask for info.
If anybody can suggest a source dealer or private sale, I would be very interested (plus I need to buy the bugger before the wife finds out I have funds squirreled away).
I don't have a huge fund available but beleive that I can afford something good.
I know some of you will doubt my sanity (or at least taste), even I think that I should be looking for a much more normal line a SG Jr, LP Jr or even a Firebird.
Any heres the preferences.
Realisiticaly I would like a 360 or 370 though a 660 would be considered (possibly even a nice 620)
Most desireable would be a 360V64 (yeah I know they're not old) but the George Harrison association is too much for me (Hmmmmmm
Fireglow & double bound with chequerboard binding)
Pickups : Vintage (toaster) preferred (not essential though)
Finish : Almost any but preferences listed below
Very Desireable : Fireglow, Ruby or Mapleglow
Definately NOT : Red, Sea Green or Blueboy (crimes against good taste)
Thanks,
Rob...

Rics are the king of 12 strings. Tambourine Man, Hard Days Night.......legendary tone.

I take it you've looked on eBay as well? There's usually a few older Ric's on there. There's also Music Ground/Roka's (Rockers?) on Denmark St, but the main shop is in Leeds http://www.musicground.com (I think).
The Dusenburg(berg?) 12's are supposed to be pretty good, and a bit cheaper than a Ric, same with the Tokai 330 (Korean) copies.
Good luck with your jangl-y hunt! ;)
I really fancy a Ric 480/481, as well as the elusive Jetglo 4001 I've been lusting after for too many years (lack of funds...)! I actually had the chance to buy a chequer board binding one about 17 years ago for a silly sum, but cos it had damage to the back, I didn't get it. A classic "one that got away" stoey... :(

Tried a Dusenburg and a Burns double 6 today but theyre just not quite right :(
Although I like the Tokai 6 string ric copies (they are so much fun through a fender blues Jr turned up full) I don't like the 12
Macarris (spelling) had a Dean 12 (it's been there for ages) but they where too crowded and the christmas crowds make me even grumpier than usual :(
Apart from that I only found two used 360s (the one in vintage & rare was then nicest and oldest built in 87) .
I know shouldn't be so picky, but Ive been waiting so long.
Anyway thanks for the suggestions, and if you think of anything let me know.
